Problem handling database with php

1 New Member
hello,
I've to write a php code for retrieving data from mysql DB and display it in multiple pages. It's about displaying patents for a particular area.I'l have to display patent number, abstract about the patent.A checkbox field has to be associated with every patent number, named relevant. If the user finds it to be relevant it marks that checkbox as relevant or else leave it as it is.My probelm is that I'l ve to submit both patent number and checkbox information corresponding to around 200 patents retrieved earlier from database.I am new to php.Can anyone help me in this regard?? I'll be highly obliged.

Hi Meesa,

Have you got any code already that we could all take a look at and help with? If not take a look at the W3Schools php tutorial.

Also there is a great article on the idea of data handling right here on this forum.

Take a look at these and have a go - it's the best way to learn. I'll be happy to help with any further questions you may have later on.

The basic idea would be to select data out of the database then display on the page for the user to see. When the re-submit the data or when the check a box you can write back to the database what they have said.

Have a play around with and I'll be happy to help if you need it.
