We have a short list of wiki software listed below that we are
evaluating. The project will also be using wordpress and there will
need to be some integration between the wiki and wordpress. It seems a
wiki that can use mysql and is also PHP based would be favorable.
OK, thats pretty much all of them then. I would reckon on spending between 2
hours and 2 weeks gathering the information needed to base a recommendation
like this on, and you're trying to get it from a NNTP post which mentions
nothing about what you intend using the Wiki for.
There has been alot of research, but I am not a project leader on
this and do not control all aspects of the efforts.
I had also considered DBM/DBA which are object persistent databases,
Is this troll?
I haven't been able to find a clear place that explains how to set up
DBA for PHP on windows. I've done it in Perl
but our team does
(!)
not seem to favor that solution, though I have not
really analyzed that approach
Yeah - just post the question on the Usenet its a lot easier than doing any
work.
All I'm saying is I'm not an expert in the pros and cons of DBA/DBM,
someone here said it wouldn't be good because mysql caches itself and
DBM doesn't, but like I said I'm not in control of the decisions, I
can only try to influence it.
or have enough experience to feel I
understand all possible advantages or disadvantages that it might
have. I have not been able to find a DBM that works with PHP on
windows which some development will be on.
You really haven't spent a lot of time researching this have you?
I have, I just like to use the term 'I'm not an expert' etc because
many people decide that something will or will not work without
knowing alot about it.
