Hi,
What I'm trying to find is a web host who explictly states what versions
of PHP and MYSQl here are using. I am looking for a host who uses
*recent* versions. I haven't found many who state this.
Thanks 8 1996

Good way to test them is to e-mail support and ask them. See whether they
can respond quickly and cluefully.

Thanks http://www.aqhost.com/index.php?ref=00001140
AQhost.com is outstanding. Nicely furnished cPanel interface allowing
w/cron jobs, new versions of phpMyAdmin as soon as they become
available, regular MySQL 4.x updates, Fantastico, 3 webmail interfaces,
4 sets of logs/stats, and on and on. I am dumping my old host and
migrating 15 clients to aqhost.com. Found out about aqhost.com from a
non-PHP literate Flash designer that I work for, and he's got a LOT of
sites hosted there.
I use yahoo webhosting. I used php info to get the version, and mySQLAdmin
to get the version of MySQL.
The PHP version is: 4.3.6
The MySQL version is: 3.23.49
I'm satisfied with their service. It's been fairly simple and they offer
quit a bit of dispace, sub-domain names, email.

Verio - any of the vps products. You get your own freeBSD server with
root
permissions. You can install any php or mySQL version you want. not to
mention the rest of the power you get with maintaing your own freeBSD
server.

Give JTLNet ( http://www.jtlnet.com/) a look. Affordable and good service.
Been with them for several uneventful years. They keep the server software
fairly up-to-date. The server I'm on is running PHP 4.3.9, for example. I
believe they offer PHP 5 hosting as well.

Hello,
I am not sure if this problem is due to Bugzilla or MySQL...
But, some MySQL gurus here may be able to confirm if this is proper behavior
of MySQL.
Setup:
Host A: RedHat 7.1, Bugzilla 2.14
Host B: RedHat 7.3, MySQL 4.0.12 (default config)

I'm a newbie in mysql and I've a question about user definition in
Mysql.
According to informations collected from manuals I believed that a
user definition specifying host="%" on mysql server 'A' granted me
connection from whatever client (with command "mysql -hA -uuser -p");
but executing that command from server, to say, 'B', mysql denies
access to user@B. The matter can be solved defining a new user with
host B (it's to say...

Using MS Access, I have attached to MySQL servers in other states
and other countries on the other side of my router. But when I use the
MySQL ODBC driver 3.51 to connect to a MySQL server on my own LAN,
the driver tells me it cannot make the connection. Here are the ODBC
driver connection parms:
Data Source Name: (free field - name my "my linux box" will do nicely)
Host/Server Name (or IP) - something like MSQLUserName@ServerName.net...

Hi all.
I have a fully functional page hosted on my PC that uses PHP and
connects to MySQL on my PC to generate it's code.
I now have some web hosting available which includes both PHP and MySQL
support, however the webhost is still in the process of getting the
MySQL support activated and functional.
I therefore have uploaded my webpage to the host and edited the webpage

Hi All,
I've been trying to build a Ruby-on-Rails plus MySQL application. I'm
running Ruby 1.8.2, Rails 1.1.4 and MySQL 5.0.15-nt over
WinXP-Pro/SP2. I run under an Administrative account.
I tried building the first example from Agile Web Development with
Rails, 1st ed. Somehow the DB got corrupted and I couldn't recover.
Instead of retrying that, I tried building the first example from Ruby
For Rails, which worked fine.

I've used phpinfo() to confirm settings for mySQL on our host server,
and it's not returning accurate info.
phpinfo() returns a mySQL client API version of 3.23.54 (uselss for
me), where as a SELECT VERSION() query on the mySQL database returns
version 5.0.27 (exactly what we need). I think there's something wrong
with the mySQL library in PHP.
Is there any more thurough method of seeing php's settings for mySQL?
Obviously I don't...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
