Hi,
I know Python since about 3 days or so and I like it very much :-) I am
currently tying to control an external console driven program but I
have encountered some problems while trying to do so.
Suppose I will try to control a program like a ftp command line client.
At first I wrote something like:

I'm trying to modify the following program so that it uses a class to store
and retrieve the employee's name, the hourly rate, and the number of
hours worked. Use a constructor to initialize the employee information,
and a method within that class to calculate the weekly pay. It seems that the more I read into this, the more confused I get. Any help will be greatly apreciated.
Here is my latest code...

Hello! You may remember me as the guy who's trying to learn C# and using
that old version 2003 of visual studio. (Although free version of command
line .NET compiler is available, so if some new feature would greatly
simplify my life, then I am not opposed)
I currently have an application that is single threaded that does batch work
(you pass it a file in the command line, it runs for 2-45 minutes and spits
out another file). I do not...

Hi,
I call an external windows program (.exe) from a
python script. Something like os.system('test.exe'). I
want to set a timeout for the external windows program
to return. If no results are produced by the external
windows program (test.ext) within this timeout limit,
I want to terminate the external windows program and
continue with the python script.

I'm new to Java and programming. I'm trying to code a payroll program and continue getting errors. The program worked last week, this week I have to add set, get and a class. I've written the class but when I compile the program I get 13 errors. Can anyone assist me with this? Thank you!
Errors I get:
C:\Java>javac *.java
Payroll3.java:18: illegal start of type
while ( !exit )

If the goal is to take a 1-dimensional package of text and produce a
tree data structure that is easy to understand and manipulate, and
then write C/C++ code that works with that tree - does lex/yacc suit
that purpose - i.e. kind of like a tree-manufacturing C library? Or is
it for producing a compiler/interpreter the internals of which a new C/
C++ program cannot so easily work with?

I have a threaded C program that I want to launch using a Python GUI in a Unix environment. I want to be able to change the state of the GUI by gathering output from the C program.
For instance, this is output from my C program using printf:
Thread on tile 1: On
Thread on tile 2: OFF
Thread on tile 3: Disable
...
Thread on tile 61: ON
I would update my GUI based on the output. What makes the problem difficult is both my GUI and the C...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
