ODBC ressources problem when installing PWS

Hi,

I tried to install the PWS (Personal Web Server) on a Windows 98 SE computer.
The aim is to learn PHP and test such pages locally.

I inherited the computer, so I haven't the Windows 98 installation CD.
After having downloaded "NT4 Option Pack for Windows 95",
I ran the installf.exe, which more or less installed the french version.
My computer currently has an "Inetpub" folder
with the famous "wwwroot" subfolder.

However, I encounter a problem with ODBC components :

" The ODBC resource DLL (C:\WINDOWS\SYS TEM\ODBCINT.DLL ) is a different
version than the ODBC setup.dll (C:\WINDOWS\SYS TEM\ODBCCP32.DL L).

You need to reinstall the ODBC components to ensure proper operation.
(...)
"

I observed that ODBCINT.DLL and ODBCCP32.DLL
both belong to the downloaded Option Pack files.
Maybe one of them was not installed... What should I do ?

I also wonder which components of the option pack
will be useful to PHP and which I should not install if having few memory.

Thanks in advance.

Julien

Hello, I posted a while back about a newbie database question and got a lot of great help here. My script that I am creating has come a long way (For me!) and almost does what I need it too. I am basicly using a dictionary to update a access database using an odbc connector. I am able to connect and it seems that I am able to loop through the code to update all the rows I need to. The one weird bug I seem to get is what ever is the...

I'm having problems using the DB2 Connect ODBC Driver in my SQL Server 2000 DTS packages. It started occuring after installing MDAC 2.7 (which is necessary for the .NET framework). This error occurs when I try to open the transformation that uses an ODBC Connection object that is pointing to the DB2 ODBC. Has anybody else seen this or has a solution other than re-installing everything and not loading the .net framework mdac 2.7. I...

In an Access97 application I fetch data from an Oracle database via a linked table (via Odbc/sqlnet). The Oracle database now upgrades from 7.3 to 8.0. The Oracle odbc driver I use (2.0.3.1, supplied with 7.3) always worked fine on all Nt4 workstations. Now with the 8.0 db an odbc error occurs when the db is contacted: {ODBC Oracle Driver]ORA-01034: ORACLE not available. (#1034) SQLSetConnectAttr of the device driver had failed. On a...

Maybe a dumb question - I'm new to ODBC. How do I install an Access ..mde file on a user's workstation and create the ODBC connection to the backend SQL Server database without having to go through the Administrative Tools>Data SOurces (ODBC) menu? IS there a way to do this with VBA code from my installer disk, or by simply copying a file onto the user's PC? Any help is appreciated. LQ

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
