generating thumbnail from video file ? can gd to this ?

Hello,

I am looking for a PHP script to generate thumbnail from a movie file (.AVI,
..MOV, .MPEG, .MPG, .WMV, etc...).

Ideally, the file will be "remote" (hosted on another web server than the
PHP script).

Any idea ?

I use imagemagick via a system call for that, GD cannot do it. Maybe
you should take a look at that too, but it requires you can make
system calls with your php script.
