Hi,
I have few questions about the format of .NET assemblies:
Are all .NET assemblies created in Portable Executable (PE) format only or
is there any other format supported? If so, which format gives better
performance?
Is Common Object File Format (COFF) related to .NET assemblies?

Hi ,
I need to convert .ppt file in .png file .
For this reason I think that best solution is :
..ppt => .ps (postscript) => .png
It's right ?
For converting .ppt in .ps , I use a Print To File .
But I can't convert .ps to .png at runtime :-(

Hey all. The images I create in photoshop with semi-transparent pixels (for
instance in Photoshop text with a dropshadow with a transparent canvas) I've
been saving in PNG format and then using them in my VB.NET app using the
picturebox control. I was really happy when I learned that you could use
PNG images in VB.NET so your images could blend in with the form's
background color. But, is PNG the ideal image format to use with these...

How do I use a curly brace within a string passed to String.Format?
I want to pass a string that includes a curly brace, but that curly
brace is not being used to indicate a replacable format parameter.
Ex: Debug.Writeline(String.Format("{ts '{0:yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm}'}",
Date.Now)
Thanks.

I am making a winforms-program in Visual Studio, that connects to an
Access database. In the database all dates are presented in this
format : dd-mm-yyyy. In my application I have a DatetimePicker, that
is presented in Dutch, the monthnames etc. But when I write this date
(e.g. 08-10-2004, which is oktober the 8th) to the table, my
application writes and picks up the date in US-format (10-08-2004).
My language settings for the machine...

I am trying to get a UK format date of dd/mm/yyyy.
Why does the following subroutine not return a valid date in a web form?
The date returned is #12:00:00 AM# but the date I entered into the text box
was 24/06/2006.
The other solution I have tried is given by the following two lines that do
not compile because a value of date type cannot be converted to datetime:

Hi, first post.
I've had no success converting a date in en-US format to another
language format base on a parameter to my function. I think i'm
missing something stupid --
pseudocode:
function doDate (byval strLocale as string, byval ENDate as string)

I apologise if this post seems a little basic, but I am a newbie and
have NO access knowledge.
I have downloaded the Accounts Ledger from the Microsoft Website.
It allows the user to review a report of transactions between a Start &
End date.
The Tables and forms i believe are UK format "dd/mm/yyyy",
However, when I click on "Review Reports" and enter the date as UK
"dd/mm/yyyy", it returns nothing.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
