problem while using datediff function

25 New Member
Hi,
I am using datediff() function to get difference between two dates.
my code looks like,
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. function dateDiff($dformat, $endDate, $beginDate)
  2.     {
  3.          $date_parts1 = explode($dformat, $beginDate);
  4.          $date_parts2 = explode($dformat, $endDate);
  5.          $start_date  = gregoriantojd($date_parts1[1], $date_parts1[0], $date_parts1[2]);
  6.          $end_date    = gregoriantojd($date_parts2[1], $date_parts2[0], $date_parts2[2]);
  7.
  8.          return $end_date - $start_date;
  9.     }
  10.
this gives error as "Warning: gregoriantojd() expects parameter 2 to be long"
but problem occurs for particular dates only not for all.
What should i do to overcome this. can you please give me helping hand.

Thank you in advance.

I have an ASP page that lists files and folders in a directory. I'm using a cookie to record the last time this page was visited, and I intend to show links that are created/modified from that date minus 30mins to the present... eg effectively new and modified files: If DateDiff("n", subfolder.DateLastModified, sLastVisit ) < 30 Then.... etc On my test machine this mechanism works OK, but on the live server (Win2k, IIS5) I get some...

I have a stored procedure using Convert where the exact same Convert string works in the SELECT portion of the procedure but fails in the WHERE portion. The entire SP is listed below. Specifically, I have a problem with this portion in the WHERE clause: DATEADD(Day,tblMyEventTableName.ReminderDays, @DateNow) Between CONVERT(smalldatetime,str(DATEPART(Month, @DateNow)+1) + '/' + str(DATEPART(Day, tblMyEventTableName.TaskDateTime)) + '/'...

I'm trying to set up a query that will include a new field ('Days until completion') whose value is derived from the DateDiff function. I think I have the syntax correct but am not sure. Days until completion: DateDiff("d",,) is TODAY the appropriate syntax for today's date? Could the function/expression even be set up that way, or do I need to do something else to get 'days until completion'? (My Access manuals do not mention a TODAY...

Hi Guru's, I have created a database to monitor hours I have worked as our payroll department are so crap. I work nights most of the time but occasionally I have to work on days. Between the hours of 18:00 and 06:00 colleagues get an unsocial shift allowance. I have managed to get it to work out my gross income for a 4 week period accounting for overtime ect but I am struggling to get the unsocial shift allowance included. All is well...

I have an MS Access query that I was hoping to summarize on the Tenure field but, instead, the rows are created as if the Tenure field were an Employee ID. So I have duplicate Tenure fields when I thought there would be just one per different Tenure field with the results summed within each Tenure. In fact, if I swap out the Tenure field output with the Employee ID, I get the same results with the exception of the Employee ID field. I have...

I hit on this problem converting a VB.NET insurance application to C#. Age next birthday calculated from date of birth is often needed in insurance premium calculations. Originally done using DateDiff in VB.NET which is only available in C# if you don't mind linking in Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll to your C# application. I wanted to avoid this so set about a pure C# solution which uses a combination of TimeSpan in whole days and the...

Configuration: Access 2002 and SQL Server 2000 using a .ADP Project. I would VERY MUCH appreciate anyone's input into this problem I'm having. I have a form in Access that does not permit the user to add/change/delete any data, apparently as a result of adding a GROUP BY clause to a View used indirectly as the form's Record Source. I really don't believe that this restriction needs to be there, and I'm hoping that someone can suggest...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
