Hi There,
I have taken over someone else's PHP code and am quite new to PHP. I made
some changes and have implemented them to a live environment fine so far.
However, I now want to setup a test environment. All the PHP scripts start
with a few lines of:
require_once "library file at specific location on server"

Hi there,
I am having trouble with an ASP login that uses sessions to control access
to certain pages. However the sessions are not being carried accross upon
using response.redirect.
I realise that this is the case that DNS names and IP addresses vary upon
whether it works or not, however how can i get around using sessions live on
the internet? and make them work>?
Hope you guys can help

Dear All,
I have an Access database that tracks the progress of income tax
audits. When the taxing authorities make a change (an "Adjustment"), I
record the pertinent information in the database. At the end of the
audit cycle, these adjustments are used to compute the revised taxes
due. This computation is done in a fairly complex, but accurate and
easy to use, spreadsheet.
In the spreadsheet, there is a sheet that lists out all...

I've been asked to display some meter data on the web and I need preliminary
advice.
We have several hundred meters on site, with a system that writes out xml
files at 10 second intervals containing their data. (These files are
overwritten every 10 seconds, not appended to.)
First, I need to display two numeric pieces of this data just as numbers in
a web page. Naturally that's easy enough: where I'm stumped is REFRESHING
that data...

Hello,
About once every two days, I need to update the live/production site with
new code (dlls, aspx's etc..), I currently have to find a time when no one
should be logged in to system like early in the morning. However,
occasionally I need to update it in the middle of the day where users are
still using the system. What worst case scenario for our users would be
then? I remember reading when I first started learning about asp.net...

I have an asp.net app running off of a W2003 server. It's being
written in VS2003. I've encountered a problem where a database record
is being updated with the wrong value intermittently. So I debug the
page.
I step through the code and the value Session("PersonID") changes
right before my eyes for no apprent reason. Now, this is where it
gets really weird. I'm attached to the process on the web server and
debugging. I give up and...

We have a web application project, currently this is in sourcesafe.
What I want is the developers to edit, debug and save the files locally
on their own machine, then when they check in the file it automatically
updates the master website. This last bit I cant work out how to do?
How do I configure this? It was so easy in Interdev.

I’ve been using Subversion for a while to maintain the PHP web apps and
sites I develop in my Windows box. But when I want to publish a new
release I update the live site manually and I want to improve this process.
I can’t simply export to a fresh directory and upload all files because
that won’t handle renames and deletions (and the upload will take
forever anyway). I typically use WinMerge to find out what files changed
but there’re...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
