Hi, I need urgent help with a novice problem. I would appreciate any
advice, suggestions... Thanks a lot in advance! Here it is:
I created a sign-up sheet (reg.html) where people fill in their first
name, last name, email, etc. The data are then sent to a PHP script
(reg.php). The data are then inserted into a table (reg) in MS SQL
server. I have declared the variables like this:
if (!(isset($_POST))) {
$FirstName = "" ;

Hi Ian,
Thanks for help! The columns and variables are exactly matched so it
shouldn't be the problem. Actually the original html and php files are
pretty long. But I
guess a more detailed script should help you diagnose the problem. The
error message to the below script is:
---------------------------------
call someoneDB Error:
Warning: mssql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid Sybase

Before i post actual code, as i need a speedyish reply.
Can i first ask if anyone knows off the top of their head, if there is
a likely obvious cause to the following problem.
For the moment i've reduced my form request to a simple text string
entry, instead of my desired optional parameters. As i have been stuck
with a single unfathomable glitch for over a year.
Basically, if i enter queries such as ;
"select * from table" "select * from...

Hello all,
We are currently changing our web server and, in the process, updating PHP
version from 4.3.0 to 4.3.5. The problem we've got is that our PHP
applications generate errors saying that some of the variables are
Undefined.
I didn't use "if(isset($myVar))" to validate if a variable has been passed
from a HTML form but instead "if($myVar)".

If I submit my for using a get action the resulting page loads . If I
use a post action I get an error page saying "The page cannot be
found". I am calling the originating page!!! This happens in IE as
well as FireFox.
This code has been tested on a Win2003 server, IIS6, PHP 5.0.3, mySQL
4.1.8 and it works fine.
The problem server is a Win2k server, IIS5, PHP 5.0.4, mySQL 4.1.11.

I am running PHP5 in Eclipse. I downloaded HTTP_UPLOAD from
pear.php.net to play with the functionality. They have a nice example
but it is not working for me...
Here is what is happening - the example includes a form where you
select a file and submit. When I run the code, though, it acts as if
I have already pressed the submit button and I always end up with the
error "No file was provided."
The form and the php code that...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
