I was trying to think up a nice, simple solution to SQL injection while
pondering my top ten vulnerability list. Here's something I came up with.
Tell me what you think.
function sql() {
$args = func_get_args();
$format = array_shift($args);
for($i = 0, $l = count($args); $i < $l; $i++) {
$args = mysql_escape_string($args);
}

More evidence tht PHP was hacked together rapidly without a great deal
of thought being given to security.

Hello
I have recently released catchmail - a free (BSD license) open source
Python utility www.users.bigpond.net.au/mysite/catchmail.htm
This script processes in and outbound emails and stores them to a
database.
The source code is here:

I have been working on this particular project for a little over 2 weeks now. This product contains between 700-900 stored procedures to handle just about all you can imagine within the product. I
just personally rewrote/reformatted close to 150 of them myself. Nothing too fancy, mostly a lot of formatting. We have a little down time between Q/A and fixing any bugs they find so I decided to
test the security of the site with Cross-Site...

....another beginnger question.
I have a web application in .net v2 VB that requires multiple reads from sql tables where
each read is slightly different - so the sql select statements also differ frequently. I've created a
few functions in an .ascx file to handle these reads and send them back to the main code.
2 examples are below. Each works - the first returns a single integer value, the second returns the entire row
that contains a...

There are assorted "SQL Injection vulnerability assessment tools" out there.
They scan your site and send your report. They also take your money.
We don't have the money so I was wondering if I could replicate the tool's
behavior myself. I am guessing that they work by attempting a
non-destructive injection attack against your DB and evaluating the success
or failure of that test.
I am curious if a) I'm correct about this, and b) if...

Hi.
Would you recommend a ASP (IIS) web server vulnerability scanner? If I
install the all the updates from Microsoft, then I don't need
vulnerability scanners? I was on a chat, I installed all the updates,
but the other guy said he found some vulnerability from my web server
and he could attack it. I think that guy used some tool to check
vulnerabilities. I treid to find a scanner myself, but I don't know
which is the best.
Thank you.

One of my server has been compromised from this virus, and I can't seem to
block it out! I have shut down the infected server, but I need to figure
out how to check for this, and stop it.
The site is running iis5 on Windows2000, the backend DB is SQLServer 2000
Can anyone point me to some good resources for this? This is urgent!
Thanks alot

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
