Right now, there's a LOT of demand for DBAs (at least in my area, there is).
If you have an interest in PHP, my advice is to go for it. It ain't going away anytime soon, and nobody's going to force you to stick with it if you want to try your hand at a different language.

PHP is a great language to know. If nothing else, it is a great starting point.
It's simpler to learn than most languages. You can kind of start of on simpler terms.
Many of the other languages are completely OOP, and while PHP does support OOP, you don't have to use it, or even know what it is, unless you want to.
Wether it is worth investing a lot of time in, career vise. My guess is that demand for PHP developers is only going to go up. The fact that it's open-source has scared away a lot of enterprise level user, but I think that's becoming less of an issue.
Same here. Go ahead. A profile with PHP/MySQL listed in the SkillSet is now on high demand in our locality.

Hi,
I'm using a form with a bunch of input tags to enter numbers. Is there any
way to make the input field right adjusted, so that the numbers align at the
right side instead of the left? Even plain html doesn't work, could java
script or something else help?
Bye

I have a form I want to submit to itself. I want to be able to type in a
list of numbers and submit the form and have that list show up on the same
form under the text box I typed them into and the buttons. The problem is
when I post a form to itself, the Enter key will not submit the form, it
only clears the contents of the text box. The only way I can submit is to
click the submit button. Here is a simplified version of my code that I...

AccessXP
When I use the wizard to create a form, all the textboxes are created with
the Enter Key Behaviour of "New Line In Field". When I create the form
manually the Enter Key Behaviour is "Default". "New Line In Field" is
undesirable because when I go to enter data in the field and then ptess
<Enter>, rather than go to the next field, a carriage return is entered in
the textbox and as the property says, Access goes to a new line in...

I'm trying to write an XML schema file (XSD) that will have two kind of
elements:
* xs:base64Binary
* xs:string
But I need that the schema will let only one of this elements to exist in
the XML (or DataSet), meaning; I wand the user to enter or byte array data
or a string, but not both.
When the user select one of the two elements type, he can enter as many as
he likes.

Totally hacked off here. I've written a user control that contains a
text box, a required field validator and a button (these being the
cornerstone of a search facility), all as ASP.Net server controls. The
user clicks the button, and server-side code does a redirect to a
search page, appending the search expression to the URL.
Great, I thought, let's move on. I then wrote an mailing list page
which included the aforementioned user...

Hello everyone, I'm using Access 2000 and SQL 8.0
This maybe easy but I can't figure it out. I have a linked access
table to a SQL server table. I use this table on a Grid on an Access
form. There is a field on the grid for the Equipment Number the field
is called Equipment (I know original).
The data type for this field is varchar with a length of 10 and the
data is rigth justified in the table
on the SQL Server.

Hello All,
I've been plugging away at testing some VBA SQL that executes when a user clicks a button from a 'custom query' form. The user has lots of options as to what parameters should be included in the query, so there might be a better way to handle the syntax here. My main concern right now is just possible getting a fresh set of eyes on the VBA to see what I'm missing. I'm using the form's textbox field txtKitNum (strKit) to test...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
