Hi,
Last year, I got a php manual from my friend. It is different with
what is available for download right now, because it has user comments
inside (in separated file, named php_manual_note s.chm.
I was looking for the new version of it on google, but I couldn't find
any of it. Could someone tell me where i could have this ? It is very
usefull for me to read some examples that listed on it.

Or if you are online and are happy with an online reference, you can
just use the manual at http://www.php.net/ (which should be more up-to-
date than a local copy).

Alternatively, if you are happy using an online reference, you could
also use the manual at http://www.php.net/ as it should be more up-to-
date than a local copy.

Or if you are online and are happy with an online reference, you can
just use the manual at http://www.php.net/ (which should be more up-to-
date than a local copy).
The .chm has a lot of advantages - such as very quick search, not
requiring an internet connection and faster response.
I much prefer it over the local version. Download the copy for your
version of PHP and you are always up to date - and don't have to worry
about things which are added after your current version (no, I do NOT
stay with the latest in production systems!).

It seems the Gods are proposing to distribute the documentation and help
for Python-2.3.1 in .chm form. I particularly detest .chm and much
prefer .html as it works across all platforms. Additionally by having a
single index.html for all of the various bits of Python help I can link
in things like Pmw, PIL and Quick Guide etc with a simple text editor.
The argument is made that .chm is a better mechanism (more searchable
indexable etc)...

I suspect many developers here have had to write a technical manual for
their software, and I'm wondering if you have any info as to industry
standards for formatting.
For example, should a screen shot be included for each edit screen? If
so, how big? What if the picture won't fit on the page with the
corresponding text?
I realize the best way is to hire someone who knows all of this stuff,
but we can't afford it. Thanks!

I am having problem in displaying the compiled help file. In asp.net app I
have link button labeled help. On the users click of this button i do the
respose.redirect to the url of the .chm file.
The error message on the web page i get is Action Cancelled. I do see the
left panel of help file that has the contents. The right panel is the one
