Given the following information about memory management in C++:
-----
The c-runtime dynamic memory manager (and most other commercial memory
managers) has issues with fragmentation similar to a hard drive file
system.
Over time, the more often use call new/delete or alloc/free, there
will be
gaps and fragments in the heap. This can lead to inefficient use of
available memory, as well as cache-hit inefficiencies.

Hello,
I am currently coding my ASP.Net pages in c# and have run into a question
concerning Emails. I have four objects on a page (six including 2 buttons).
The first is a subject line (textbox) , the next is the email body (a
Textbox with multiple rows), an email address (textbox), and a DropDownList
containing multiple email addresses (populated from a SQL Server table).
The way this page functions is that a user types in the email...

I've searched google intensely on this topic and it seems noone really knows how to approch this.
The goal I don't want clients to give out their usernames and passwords to friends, since the site
relies on subscrption fees.
Sessions ID's are matched between the browser and the server. So a users can login with same
username and password and those sessions are tracked individually.
Some suggest create table fields with the session ID...

Hi,
I'm trying to design contact (names and addresses) tables in an Access
database. Some of the contacts represent vendors, some are board members of
the organization, some are donors, some are neighbors of the organization,
some are politicians, etc. Rather than create separate tables for each type
of contact, I thought it would be better to have:
one table with names/addresses
one table with kinds of lists (vendors, board...

I am working with a database that has client information separated in to 4
related tables - tFolder, tAddress, tEmail, tPhone number. In addition there
are related tables tGifts and tCalls. The database has roughly 22,000
records but should only have around 6,000. The remaining records are
duplicates, but in many cases the correct data for one person is spread out
between the duplicate records and related tables. I need to be able to...

Hi all.
Is it possible to implement an accurate voting mechanism (think
digg.com) that does not require users to sign in before voting?
I think for many people registering is pain and thus they rarely give
their votes online. Just look at digg and compare the number of votes to
the number of people visiting their website.
IOW what if somebody needs votes but cannot afford to bother users with
registration process?

I created a small website for a friend. On this website he has a
contact page where people can send him email. When I wrote this page I
checked some tutorial pages and they warned about certain precautions
to take to avoid spammers using the mail form to spam multiple
people.
I believe I did most of that, such as making sure that the header
fields does not include multiple addresses, etc.
Now it does seem some spammer has discovered...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
