Hi,
I need to convert a 24-bit RGB TIFF image to an 8-bit RGB TIFF image.
I've tried using PIL and the convert() method - this allowed me to
convert to an 8-bit grayscale image, close but not exactly what I need
:(
From what I've read, it doesn't look like I can do what I need in PIL.
Does anyone know of another method ?

Hello,
I've been programming in ASP for a little while now and quite an
advanced user, but I have come across an unusual problem in which I
need assistance.
I have built my own image upload, I have two versions of the binary to
string conversion one fast, one slow because some servers use
chillisoft and therefore the append function in not accessible for a
disconnected recordset.

Hi all,
got a problem when converting a PNG to a JPG using the Image.Save(stream,
format) method.
When I save the original PNG to a file and open it, it's fine. I then save
it to a database, retrieve it and Save it as a JPG format and most of the
image is fine except a large black band at the bottom of the image.
What can i do?

Hi,
What is the better way to save image into a database ?
Just save the path into a field or save the image itself ?
I have 20 000 images (~ 10/12 Ko per image ) to save.

I get the following error in my code when I set Option Strict to On:
Option Strict On disallows implicit conversions from 'System.Object'

The blue error underline starts at "ResMan" and goes to the end of the
line in this line of code:
Dim i As System.Drawing.Image = ResMan.GetObject("logo.gif")
ResMan is declared in another module as follows:

We're authoring a VS 2005 app that includes several EXE's and DLL's and also
uses a COM component (a customer requirement). The COM component provides a
graphic image to be used by the .NET app; the graphic is supplied as a
"StdPicture" (AKA, IPictureDisp).
How can I convert this to a .NET Image? A search of the object browser
shows:
protected static System.Drawing.Image GetPictureFromIPictureDisp(object
picture)

Hi all,
I need to convert a tif image, grabbed by a pixelink industrial
camera, to a text file (1024x768 elements) but I really don't know
how.
Surfing the net I found that there are a lot of methods to write a
tiff image but how can I understand which is the one used in mine?
Can you suggest me some example of code I can use to read the image?

Hello,
I'm working on an image processing project using the Python Imaging
Library along with numpy. Right now, I'm trying to build a speedy
script for converting whole images between the RGB and the HSV (a.k.a.
HSB) color spaces. Unfortunately, the code I've made so far runs
dreadfully slow with even moderate-sized images.
I'm under the impression that the crux of the problem is the fact that
PIL's point method operates on only one...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
