Does anybody know, of PHP - especially file_get_conten ts() - restricts
the size of the URL, which is passed to send a GET request?

I need to pass serializes array from one app to another. These
structures might get big....

In theory the length is not restricted by the RFC (IIRC), but in
practice there are limitations in the browsers and maybe even in the web
servers.

What about sessions or POST?

Thx! I'll switch to SOAP, which is anyway a better design.

Hi folks, I've tried reading just about every post I can on raid stiping / extent size etc and I'm just getting myself more confused than ever. Here's my situation. On a Windows Server 2000 standard edition system with only 1gb ram using UDB 8.2.3 Enterprise, I have an existing database that uses two raid arrays striped with 8kb. Presently the tablespaces have a default extent of 24, default prefetch of 48 .

http://www.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN;q273482 the above speaks for ASP and IIS4, but is it true for the IIS version that comes with Win2000 and with ASP.net? that is, cause at some very big forms, I get lots of the following errors: System.Web.HttpException: The viewstate is invalid for this page and might be corrupted.

On modern 32-Bit PC's, the following setup is common: char: 8-Bit short: 16-Bit int: 32-Bit long: 32-Bit "char" is commonly used to store text characters. "short" is commonly used to store large arrays of numbers, or perhaps wide text characters (via wchar_t).

hi i've got an app that runs something like 4000 updates when certain pages are updated. it's taking on average 20 seconds for these pages to execute the update command (15 seconds if all i do is open and close the connection without even executing the sql statement). the original max pool size set in the web.config file was set to 100. I've boosted the max pool size to 500 and now get the update command to execute in about 2-3 seconds.

Hi everyone, I have new questions for tonight. I would like to know the best ways to prevent Denial Of Service Attacks. Well my question is a bit more precise than that. I can see of three vectors of implementing a DoS attack (an attacker will certainly use a combination of the 3 ...) here they are: 1. Iteration: using a program that will repeatedly make requests with GET/POST.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
