PHP include_path works from command line but not browser

1 New Member
Hi all -- I have an include_path question.

Just setting up a new server, and I'm running into a really stupid issue.

I have the following line in php.ini:

[PHP]include_path = ".:/usr/local/include:/usr/share/pear"[/PHP]

Inside /usr/local/include there's a file lib/html/html.php which does some templating for me.

My PHP code has the following line:

[PHP]include 'lib/html/html.php';[/PHP]

When I execute my script from the command line (logged in as root), I have no trouble.

When I try to execute the script via the browser, I get the following message:
[PHP]
Warning: include(lib/db/db.php) [function.includ e]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/vhosts/rizblue.com/subdomains/dev/httpdocs/rizblue/travel/index.php on line 10

Warning: include() [function.includ e]: Failed opening 'lib/db/db.php' for inclusion (include_path=' .:/usr/local/include:/usr/share/pear') in /var/www/vhosts/rizblue.com/subdomains/dev/httpdocs/rizblue/travel/index.php on line 10[/PHP]

Anybody know what's going on?

Hi.

The errors are complaining about not being able to include 'lib/db/db.php'.
You didn't mention that one in your post.

Are you sure that this file exists?

I'd like to write a PHP script to be used from the command line on a Unix machine. I'd like for the script to put together a string, turn it into a web page, print it, then return control the command line. Obviously it is quite easy to make a string that is valid HTML and send it to the printer. The tough part is making look like a web page. In particular, image tags should print out as images, not image tags. Does anyone have an idea...

I suspect the following problem IS hosting provider specific, but they haven't been able to help me out so far. Perhaps I am doing something wrong and someone is able to spot the issue... Here goes. The actual path of the root dir of my account with hosting provider (H.P.) is: /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/mydomain.com/ The webroot is a subdir of the root: /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpdocs. Hello Everyone; My site was hacked the other day -- someone was able to rename my index.shtml file and put their own index.html file on my server. Not sure how it was done, but looking through the log file, I found a lots and lots of entries where an "include_path" parameter was included in the URL of the PHP page, as shown below: 69.94.36.155 - - "GET...

Is it possible in, say, a .htaccess file, to append additional paths to the php include_path without knowing what the value of include_path is beforehand? I want to add an absolute path to a directory and it's subdirectories from a .htaccess file, but I don't want to have to encode the entire current value of it and append my own path as that would mean having to change it every time it changes in php.ini or the code is deployed on a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
