I'm trying to replace <table>s with <div>s as much as possible. However, I can't figure out how to do the following… <table> <tr> <td valign="top" width="100%">some data that will 'stretch'</td> <td valign="top" width="300">some data that won't 'stetch'</td> </tr> </table>

For some reason, I can't get the middle column of this setup to work properly in IE (go figure). It looks like it's supposed to in Opera and Firefox, but now I only need it to work in IE as well. I've checked around Google for possible clues, some having a JavaScript solution to something I believe should be possible to fix in pure CSS. In fact, that's exactly what I need; a pure XHTML/CSS solution (no client-side scripting). Can...

Okay - I'm spinning my wheels on this one... can someone help me figure out how to programmatically populate a table cell as follows (from C# code-behind)? I've tried using a Literal control in the TableCell, a HyperLink control, and an Image, but I'm not getting the results I want. Here's the source of what I'm after (retrieved by viewing the source of a page I'm trying to emulate): <td><a...

I have strip-mined, strip-searched, and completely exhausted the Internet (up to the 30th page on Google, with 100 results per page!!), all without finding an answer to my question AS TO WHY IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PROGRAMMATICALLY ADD A BUTTON TO A DYNAMICALLY CREATED PAGE. Or, to be more precise, why it is impossible to have an onClick sub respond to that button’s Click event. My main page has only one line:

Hi everyone, I've got a question about what makes the "img" element's width/height attributes valid HTML or XHTML. First of all, this is a rather theoretical question, but digging through the W3C HTML 4.01 standard and this group's archive didn't give me a satisfactory answer, so here we go: Is <img src="img.png" alt="" width="100px" height="100px"really valid?

Is it possible, so that when you do multiple <UL>'s to control how deep the UL's are marked? For example, it would defaultly look like this with multiple ULs and LIs: -- Code : Main Menu<ul>Fruits<ul><li>Apples</li><li>Oranges</li></ul></ul> .. -- Returns :

I have a subdirectory with an aspx page that references a master file located in the root. In the master file template I reference a logo/image that is in <root>/resources... <img alt="logo" src="./resources/logo.png" /> For some reason when I pull up the page in the subdirectory it only shows the alt tag because i think it can't find the png. Any idea why?

Hello, I'm using tiny MCE plugin on my oscommerce and it is inserting my website URL when I use insert image function in the emails. The goal is: Make it send the email with the URL http://mghospedagem.com/images/controlpanel.jpg instead of http://mghospedagem.comhttp://mghospedagem.com/images/controlpanel.jpg As u see, there's the website URL before the image URL.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
