What is the question? Are you saying PHP is not stable on LAMP? If PHP
is not stable on your configuration under linux, it's not installed
right. I doubt installing it on Windows will improve your situation.
Typically going from stable and solid to flaky and buggy does not
improve your environment.

Stability of a server depends on how good the sysadmin is, not host on the
OS.

I'm running Apache and PHP on XP Pro here and it's solid as a rock. It's
probably Windows itself you need to worry about.

No, it will be as unstable as the windows server is, which is about 100
times less stable than Linux.
Leave windows where it works, as a desktop. Use linux as a server, which
its far far better at.

Disagree. You cant get round memory leaks on Windows with anything short
of a complete recode of the OS. No matter how good a sysadmin you are.

Agreed. I just wanted to make a point on "switching to linux won't solve
your problems, please become a better sysadmin instead".

Well some would aver that switching to Linux will FORCE you to become a
better sysadmin..;-)

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I have a socket server app and a client app. I need to convince the server that the application is signed with the same key as the server. Is there a way to do this? I'm starting to get concerned that it's not possible. My thinking was that maybe the server would send a random string of data to the client. The client could then encrypt it, send it back, and the server would either unencrypt it or...

I have used Visual Studio for about 8 months. I have developed some ASP solutions. I had to get on with some other things and have not worked with ASP.NET for a couple months. Hi, I'm having a problem similar to the one that's stated in this KB http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;839521 When I'm posting a page to itself with the bool value as true it falls into an infinite loop and later a StackOverflow Exception. I need to do this and not a Response.Redirect or a transfer with the bool in false. My problem is that this KB is saying that this problem should be solved with ServicePack 1 of...

I am having yet another issue with Windows Server 2003. This time, the web service (a file import web service) appears to run except for one odd message: "ActiveX component can't create object". There are no other statements to indicate what object cannot be created. Otherwise, everything on the test Windows Server 2003 works fine—all import data updates correctly. Unfortunately, my normal development environment is not Windows...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
