Not quite clear on your question? You can use ODBC
to connect a PC running Access with a remote MySQL server --
you have to create a DSN. If you need it, you can find some
setup info at http://www.thebook.com/myodbc.html

Best regards!

Hi, I'm running MySQL 4.0.13, connecting from PowerBuilder 9 using ODCB Connector 3.51. I'm getting my feet wet with making Python talk to MySQL via ODBC. I started on Windows, and it went smoothly enough due to the ODBC stuff that apparently is native to Python at least on windows (I've been following ch. 13 of Mark Hammond's py on win32 book). But now I'm trying to do equivalent stuff on linux (Fedora Core 3) with python 2.3.5 and mysql. I'd like to stick with packages that are native to python, rather than relying on...

I am using the MySQL ODBC 3.51 driver to link three relatively small MySQL tables to a Microsoft Access 2003 database. I am finding that the data from the MySQL tables takes a hell of a long time to load making any kind linkage with my Access data virtually useless. I have the MySQL driver setup in as a USER DSN. The MySQL data is sitting out on a server and the Access database is running locally. The network connection is very...

Dear group, we are dealing with some very specific problems with ODBC, where a connection from SQL-Server to Mysql works with ODBC-driver 3.51.10.00 and does NOT work with ODBC-driver 3.51.11.00. Maybe someone experiences similar problems or even has a solution ? Some feedback (to the group) would be highly appreciated. We use a Microsoft SQL-Server as Headquarter database and some Mysql-machines on Redhat as satellite-databases. We...

I am trying to set up an ODBC DSN to our company MySQL database so that I can use a MS Access front end. I am using the MySQL ODBC 3.51 driver. The database is running off of Apache on our Windows 2000 server (call it 'foobar'). The host is 'localhost', the user is 'root'. To access the database via a web browser on a PC on our network, I use the address 'http://foobar:8080/". This works fine. If I set up a DSN on the server, I connect...

I have a problem writing PHP ODBC scripts that suit both MySQL and PostgreSQL. So far, the following syntaxes seem to apply to each database (this is an 'insert' example; the same differences apply to 'select commands): MySQL: INSERT INTO MyTable (col1, col2) VALUES ("value1","value2") PGSQL: INSERT INTO "MyTable" (col1, col2) VALUES ('value1','value2') I'd like to have a single syntax for both databases. Is this possible? Do I need...

I need to Connect to an online mySQL database from Access using JET ODBC with no saved DSN. Anyone out there who as made this work and can give example of how it's done? I've seen lots of posts saying it's possible, but no code. This has to be Jet ODBC, because the users are technophobes and I wouldnt expect them to download and install a myODBC driver - or create a working DSN for that matter. My visiting the sites and configuring...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
