cart shop, forum and blog as one solution

Hi,

I've got a potential client and potential problem. The client wants a
website based on CMS with forum, blog and cart solution. Here's the
problem.

I could offer him:

- website based on CMS, e.g. joomla
- blog based on wordpress
- forum based on vBulletin
- and shop cart based e.g. on cubecart

The problem is I don't know ( and I assume it's rather not possible )
to integrate all of them into one website with the same look ( which
the client could stomach ) and, what's the most important, the same
login and password for the user who could access forum, blog and cart
shop.

Is there any solution or any way to integrate all of the requirements
into one?

...or bespoke solution is the only option?

Cheers,
Richard

Take a look at Drupal:

http://drupal.org/

CMS, blogs, and forums will be there by default. Shopping cart
won't, so you'll have to get a third-party extension (there are
several).

On a second thought, you might be able to do this in Joomla!, too;
blog functionality is already present, while forums and e-commerce
could be implemented with available extensions...

Well, that's where your software development skills come in. Take the
shopping cart extension that has the most of what you want and enhance
it...

You have ordered one item and placed it into your cart. Let's say you ordered one small black t-shirt. Your cart will have the product_id, color_id and size_id for the small black t-shirt. The quantity of this item is, let's say 30. You have one in your cart, so how many are available: 1) 29 2) 30 Now let's say that while I ordered one small black t-shirt, Sven ordered 1 small black t-shirt, Anders ordered one black t-shirt, and...

Hi all, I've built an online shopping cart using ASP Classic(based on a 'WebThang' tutorial). The shop cart page (with table showing customers selected items and costs) has only 3 buttons/links. 1: Back to Shop: Uses 'javascript:history.go(-1)' to go to previous page. 2: Remove Item(one next to each item in cart): Clears the selected item from the session variable array redisplays the page.

There are lots of examples out there of ASP.NET shopping carts, but they all stop short of SSL. If someone knows of a shopping cart example that get in to code for digital certificates please show me where. I've been researching SSL and digital certificates, not that I have a specific application in mind, I just want to know how to do it. And there seem to be many ways to process credit cards. You could do it all on your server with...

Hi, I'm building a shop site where the cart is stored in the session state. I'm having a problem with a particular page that processes a code which adds products to the cart at a discount. I have an unhandled exception that results from the session expiring before processing the code. It goes something like this: 1) Enter code. 2) Code is validated. Products are added to a datatable in session state.

Ok, I'm so sorry, but I'm very new at this. So new in fact that I had a friend of mine integrate this shopping cart with my current online store. My site is up, but it is not linked yet to the shop - <link removed> is the main site, as soon as I have the shop running, it will be linked. My problem is on the shop <link removed> I have a cart running now that is available, but I need to add TWO drop down menus - basically one for which COLOR...

I am writing a shopping cart app in asp.net. So far I created 2 classes, 1 for customer_info (name, address, email), 1 for product_info (prodname, price, description). As the shopper adds things to the cart and navigates throught the site to shop more, should I store this info in a session var? What is the typical way? Should I create another class for cart and store an array of product_info to keep track of what's in the cart,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
