Hi all,
A callcenter-like app that we are writing in Python will need recording
functionality for voice conversations. I am thinking of doing this through
a voice modem.
Any suggestions on how to interface with a voice modem from Python?
Thanks

Any progammers looking for a killer app to develop? How about a voice
enabled forum?
One of the most powerful, exciting, and engrossing experiences on the
Internet is the Forum. The first great Internet forums were the
Usenet newsgroups. Usenet is still a powerful force, but many
different types of forums are also very popular (such as message
boards like Vbulliten and XMBforum).
I love forums. Love em love em love em. My web site...

We are developing an application using C#.net and we need to provide
support for screen readers. Jaws works pretty good except that it
can't read group box labels on dialog forms. The same version of Jaws
can read group boxes with an earlier MFC application that we wrote. Is
this by design or is there a setting I can change to fix this. I have
tried changing the accessibility role and several other things with no
success. Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to record a voice memo on a Pocket PC (2000) from VB.NET
(smart device application from vs.net 2003).
Tom Shelton did an initial conversion to VB.NET which I am trying to
run, but am getting errors I don't quite understand (I've never done
anything like this before)...
Any help would be appreciated in getting this to work...

THIS CODE CREATES AN INSTANCE OF A VOICE RECORDER, but now how do you
get it to record, save, play back, etc?

I hadn't either, at least until the other day when I stumbled across
www.voiceemotion.com. It provides, as the name suggests, an application
to be used with "voice" and from what I gather, just as we use graphic
smileys in our standard IM (Instant Messenger) text conversations,
vEmotion (free) allows us to use what appears to be emotions that
generate sound into our voice conversations or we can even set
background music... strange but...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
