So far it looks like we have these options for calling our java based API
from a .NET application:
1) http://www.jnbridge.com, about $500 per machine/developer
2) re-write java app in Visual J++ (Microsoft java) - then it will
integrate nicely with .NET.
3) use web services
4) use JNI
Option 2 isn't possible, because our java based app is a huge server side

Hi gurus
This problem is about calling Web services secured by Forms Authentication
from Windows Forms user controls embedded in HTML.
Using the object tag I’ve managed to include a Windows Forms user control in
my HTML page (a .NET alternative to good old ActiveX).
I’d like to use my control to call web-services instead of using behaviours
(webservices.htc).

I have a multi-threaded C# console application that uses WMI
(System.Management namespace) to make RPC calls to several servers (600+ )
and returns ScheduledJobs. The section of my code that performs the query
is contained in a delegate function that I execute via a second thread. On 1
or 2 of the 600+ servers the query hangs. I've tried to use Thread.Join()
coupled with a Thread.Abort() but this does not kill the thread.

Hi, I have a web service called GetComputerNameAndDescription which I can
call from the main thread of my app. If I call it from a separate thread,
however, it hangs on the call to Invoke() -- but only if I'm in the
debugger. Here's a stack trace with non-user code shown -- the call to
RegisterNotifySource, at the top of the stack, never returns -- I have to do
a "break all" inside the debugger, then find this thread and examine its
call...

Is it at all possible to call out-of-proc COM objects from ASP.NET?
If yes, what configuration settings are required?
I played around many hours already trying to get all security settings done
(as I did not find specific informations I followed the general rules for
getting ASP to work with out-of-proc COM objects).

I'm calling a web service using C# and a wrapper class generated by
wsdl tool. The web service specification contains some nillable
parameters which types are Value Types in .NET (long, int, Decimal,
....) and I must to send them as null, and not their default value. It
is possible? Is there any trick to succeed it?

i'm calling a webservice generated with oracle webservice java tools.
I'm not able to add a web reference to a .net client the usual way with
visual studio 2005.
I was therefore provided with a set of Dll that implement the proxy needed
to consume this web service.
I'm now wrapping these dlls in a .Net webservice that can be consumed with
Visual studio the familliar way.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
