Hi.

Only way I can think of is to use the Zlib Compression Functions.

You should be able to open a file using the Filesystem Functions, read it in in several smaller pieces, outputting each piece into it's own file.

You would have to take care not to loose the info on what piece goes where. I'd recommend creating a master file containing the info on the parts and which part goes where so it can be safely re-assembled.

I am getting strange print-related error messages when trying to create (not print!) reports. For example, when I click 'new' to create a report then choose 'design view', I get an error message that says: 'There was a problem retrieving printer information for this object. The object may have been sent to a printer that was unavailable.' When I choose 'report wizard', I can go through all of the steps but then I get an error message...

If server 01 running HADR in the primary role crashes, and the DBA does a HADR takeover by force on the 02 server to switch roles, then the 02 server is now the primary. What happens when the Server 01 is brought back up? It still thinks it is the primary because that was its role when it crashed and it does not know about the takeover by force command that was issued. Does the 01 server check the 02 server to see what role they are in...

Is it possible? Bestcrypt can supposedly be set up on linux, but it seems to need changes to the kernel before it can be installed, and I have no intention of going through whatever hell that would cause. If I could create a large file that could be encrypted, and maybe add files to it by appending them and putting in some kind of delimiter between files, maybe a homemade version of truecrypt could be constructed. Any idea what it...

Apparently the query analyser of sql server does not recognise a database with a point in it, like mail.archive.mdf I receive the following error when I use it: Server: Msg 911, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'mail'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly.

Hi, I have a new job. It needs to drop and re-create (by insert) a table every night. The table contains approximately 3,000,000 (and growing) records. The insert is fine, runs in 2 minutes. The problem is that when I create the indexes on the table, it is taking 15-20 minutes. There is one clustered index and 11 non-clustered. This is a lookup table that takes many different paremeters, so it really needs the indexes for the user...

Is there any way to create a local server during runtime? For example, if you add an existing Web Site to a Solution from within Visual Studio (by right clicking the solution in the Solution Explorer, then selecting Add - Existing Web Site...), then Visual Studio will create an ASP.NET Development Server on a random port (e.g., http://localhost:1619/Test). Can a similar thing be done during runtime with VB.NET? If not, is it possible to...

Hello! I have an xml schema which has a date typed attribute. I have used xsd.exe to create a class library for XmlSerializer. The result of XmlSerializer.Serialize(...) should be passed as the value for the parameter of an SqlCommand for inserting the xml document in a column of a table where the column is typed to be of the same xml schema. This all sounds simple, but SQL Server REQUIRES the timezone to be specified for date values....

I want to create a custom UI element which will be a custom rectangle object in a c# XAML application. I'm new to XAML and c# as most of my experience has been using vb with sql. I'm building a simple Visio type app where I can drag rectangles on a canvas to create diagrams. for now I don't need fancy shapes so I'll just start with a rectangle class where I can add custom properties to it such as where lines are connected to it, etc. ...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
