what u can do is open the file in write mode.. using the inbuilt function fopen() it will place ur pointer to the start of the file.. now read file line by line.. use preg_replace() to change the text and store back to the file.
or grab the contents in a varible, change it using preg_replace() again and write it back to the file..

Hello everyone, I'm working on a VS .NET add-in that will allow developers to use Subversion software from within the IDE (much like Source Safe). Ideally, I would like for my plug-in to be able to modify icons that are displayed in Solution Explorer based on the file's status. So far I've been able to retrieve data from Solution Explorer using the UIHierarchy and related objects. Those give me access to the contents, but not to the...

Hi, I currently have a Python app with a Tkinter GUI frontend that I use for system administration. Everytime it launches, it reads a text file which contains info about each host I wish to monitor - each field (such as IP, hostname, etc.) is delimited by !!. Now, I want to be able to edit host information from within the GUI - what would be the best way to go about this? Basically I just need to either edit the original host line, or...

Hello, I'm trying to add a resource to an existing assembly, but I failed. I've only nearly found how to create a new assembly, but not change a existing one. I would like to write a little C# program that store some text inside a resource, without a external file storage. For example : an auto extracting zip file or a auto decrypt gnupgp file. You launch the program then type some text. When you leave the program it store

Can I use a bound ComboBox for both browsing and editing? I'm working on a small, standalone database application using Visual C#.NET 2003 and an Access data file. In order to keep the number of different screens down to a minimum, I'm trying to use the same Windows Forms for both browsing and for updating. This works fine for TextBoxes, but I'm running into problems with my DropDownLists (ComboBoxes).

hi, i have put my web.sitemap in /App_Data so i can edit it programatically via a web admin page, inheriting the modify permissions from the App_Data folder etc. i was hoping the provider would simply persist any changes i made, but it doesn't happen. e.g. selected.ParentNode.ChildNodes.Remove(selected); throws a NotSupportedException "Collection is read-only"

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
