I am interested in creating an online appointment page where my clients can login and set an appointment with me. I'm somewhat familiar with PHP, but would like to know how should I go for creating such page. Its basically , like an airline page. I havent seen any tutorials for such, so would like to get an expert advise. Can it be done in PHP , how? ASP? A small overview would be nice so I can start. Thanks,

Yes, you could do that with PHP or ASP.
How? that depends on what you mean by 'Online appointment page'.
If you want to receive the appointment in your mailbox you could use PHPMailer class which will deal with all the technicalities of sending mail using php. If you want to store the appointments somewhere in your website, you shoul use a database such as mySQL, postgreSQL, etc.
Either way, you should have a database containing all your user's data.
I'm not exactly sure what are you looking for an answer, but if you want tutorials you should look for 'php authentication' , 'php databases' and 'phpmailer' and you will surely find lots of pages that will help you get the job done.

Start of with the creating a simple db (database)
How many fields do you need.
Create some fake data to test it.
that's just for starters... when you have that done come back for more info.
