I changed from Access97 to AccessXP and I have immense performance
problems.
Details:
- Access XP MDB with Jet 4.0 ( no ADP-Project )
- Linked Tables to SQL-Server 2000 over ODBC
I used the SQL Profile to watch the T-SQL-Command which Access ( who
creates the commands?) creates and noticed:

I have windows service running on win2000 and client applications on
local network connected to service via remoting.
Service acts as interface to MSSQL 2000 database and it uses Microsoft
Data Application Block.
Every few days data block throws timeout exception during the insert
(and very rarely even during select). After that every subsequent
insert from any client, even from client residig on the same machine
as service, throws the...

I have an asp page that is producing a report via some heavy SQL queries with
dynamically chosen parameters from the users of the page. I can run it on my
development server (takes about 35 minutes to produce) , however when it is
run on the production server it will execute for about 3 minutes, then bring
me to a Page Cannot Be Displayed. I think this might be some sort of
timeout, but I have no idea as to how to stop it. I've changed...

Front End: Access 2000 Project (.adp)
Back End: SQL Server 2000
I have an application that keeps timing out. I have opened the
DataLink properties in the front end (File, Connection, Advanced tab)
and set the timeout to 999. But the connection still occasionally
times out.
Any ideas? Some of the SQL is pretty horrible (multiple sub-queries
etc.)

Hopefully someone can provide a solution to this rather annoying
problem - we have a Cocoon pipeline which ends thus:
<!-- build the sql for insert and final stage of select -->
T1 <map:transform type="xslt" src="stylesheets/buildsql2.xsl"/>
<!-- run the sql -->
<map:transform type="sql">
<map:parameter name="*****" value="****"/>
</map:transform>

I have a client who has been receiving hundreds of SQL timeout error
messages in their error logs. Specifically, the message looks like
this:
MESSAGE : System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout
expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the
operation or the server is not responding.

Greetings,
I've got a website that has several pages with DataGrid controls on
them. The controls are bound to Object Datasources. On one of the
pages I keep getting a "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed
prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding."
error. The data is being filled from a Stored Procedure on an SQL
Server. When I run the Stored Procedure on the actual server, it is
only taking 24...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
