I'm trying to upgrade & install some Pear packages but get the following

I'm trying to install the bcompiler extension, under PHP 5.0.4 / Apache
/ FreeBSD, but can't finalize the install process...
Has anybody allready done it ?
I'm using the recommended method (in the file "package.xml", in the .tgz
file downloaded from PECL): using Pear ("For install instructions see
the manual at pear.php.net").

Hi,
I have installed PHP 5.0.3 for OS X. I have read in several places that
PEAR is included in recent installations of PHP. I'm having trouble
getting PEAR DB working. How would I know or test to see if it was
included in my installation?
Just in case it helps I've attached the phpinfo() configure line below

I am new to PHP and I am running on Windoze XP SP 2. Just noticed that
the PEAR installed dir structure I have (to DB subdir) is :
C:\php5.2\PEAR\pear\DB
My registry vars are:

I had a previous post ".. Upgrade Methods ..." and so far I've gotten
around most thorny issues, including patching php5.1.4 with
php5apache2_2.dll so I can run it as module with Apache2.2.3
I need a educated response from a PEAR developer, if possible
