In ASP you can create a variable that is accessible by all scripts in
an application.
Is this possible in PHP? Storing a multi-dimensional array in memory
has much greater performance benefits than storing in a database or
session (which just gets saved to disk anyway). Id like to have my
commonly used application variables in memory.
Is this possible or is it one of the few flaws of PHP?

My shared-host doesn't allow php_value directives in .htaccess
I was using an "auto_prepend_file" on my local development machine,
that helped me implement a Session based authentication system.
Host said: "PHP is running as SuEXEC-CGI for security reasons"
and auto_prepend_file can only be put in php.ini ( system wide, out
of my control )
Now I'm back to Square 0. I'd prefer not to get stuck rewriting my

I've searched everywhere for this but I'm not sure exactly what to
search for.
What I am trying to do is pass a variable to a php script via the URL.
However, I don't want to use the standard "?name=value format." I want
to either pass the variable as "value website.com" or
"website.com/value" where the script is stored in some directory
"website.com/script/index.php" and the value gets stored in a variable
declared within my php script.

Hello,
I've recently installed apache on a new computer, and cannot figure out why my site will not process any includes. (it was working on my old one) There are no errors on the page such as "include not found", rather much of the page is blank where the included menus, etc would be, and the CSS is not attached.

Hi,
When a user logs into our site, we create a session variable to denote
the session is active and another to denote who is logged in. Once
the user closes the browser and re-opens it, the session is destroyed
and the variables are gone.
How can I keep the session alive for 24 hours even if the user closes
and re-opens the browser?

I have a php script on my site... which lets people download files through my site.... but download does not complete ... it stops in between ... if suppose file is of 99 mb download would stop between 10-20 mb ...
I had tried putting this in .htaccess ... but does not worked ...

even bigger values dont work ... can something be done on this issue ?

I got this apache errors(see section A1 and A2 below) when I used a html(see section b below) to activate acctman.pl(see section c below). Section D below is part of the configuration of section c.
Not sure where went wrong as the web page displayed internal server error.
