Hi,
I'm busy porting a PHP-Extension written by the company I work for from
Linux to Win32 (XP).
Everything worked fine. I fixed the errors and warnings, copied the dll
to the extensions directory, entered the dll as extension into php.ini
and this is, where trouble starts.
When PHP is called on apache starting up, it throws an error at...

Every few months I get to working on a Python C extension (built with
distutils) and discover a pointer error or the like where I'd like to be
able to step into my DLL and see where the extension is going wonky.
Now, the "proper" way to debug a DLL is apparently to build Python in
debug mode (i.e. with the _d form dll), then build each and...

Hello all.
After the effort of getting most of Python 2.3.4 Final compiled in
MinGW (see: http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-list/2004-June/225967.html,
and get the patch and read more about it here:
http://jove.prohosting.com/iwave/ipython/pyMinGW.html), allow me to
report that it is now also possible to compile and build most of...

The good news:
Along with Python-2.4 comes really good news to Windows users. Yes,
you now CAN build extension modules yourself using the SAME C++
compiler and linker Python is built with itself. Everything you need
is available at no costs (except download hassle and installation
time). Once your system is set up properly its just a matter...

I need to access a MSSQL database (MS-Sql, not MySQL!)and would very
much like to use mssql-0.09.tar.gz which is available from
http://www.object-craft.com.au/projects/mssql/download.html
Unfortunately the binary for Python-2.4 isn't available yet and I'd
hate to step back to a previous version.
I'm glad I managed to set up my XP...

I'm having trouble with PHP & PostgreSQL/OpenLDAP/Apache on Windows.
I've set this up countless times on BSD (piece of cake) but I'm trying
to do this on Windows now so that my developer can work on her local
machine.
Everything looks pretty good. OpenLDAP/cygwin works great. PostgreSQL
works great. Apache runs. PHP runs.
But when I...

I have a lousy little Python extension, generated with the generous help
of Pyrex. In Linux, things are simple. I compile the extension, link it
against some C stuff, and *poof*! everything works.
My employer wants me to create a Windows version of my extension that
works with the vanilla Python 2.5 from python.org.
My employment...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
