I suspect this isn't specifically a Python question, but I
encountered it with Python so I thought I'd ask here.
I'm running Linux (Fedora 2), and just downloaded the Python 2.4
kit. I did the following from my user account:
./configure --prefix=/some/private/dir --enable-shared
make
make test # all was okay
make install

Howdy.
I looked around for an answer to this, but I was unable to find one that
seemed to match my situation. (Incidentally, now I cannot get
archives.postgresql.org to respond to my search query...)
I'm trying to build 7.3.4 on Libranet2.8.1 (debian). I've built
PostgreSQL many times in the past on stock RedHat distros and had no
problem.

Hiya,
Just a quick question for you - if I create a Setup project for my VB.NET
application, is it possible to configure the setup project to automatically
install the .NET runtime if it isn't present on the target machine? I don't
want to have to "launch" another installer from within my application
installer - I'd rather they were "integrated" into a single installation.
Any ideas?

In VB, we can easily configure DB Grid Control's interface by right clicking
it and select edit.
After that we can edit the column header, adjust the column width and do
many other things.
However, I am not too sure how to do the same thing in VB .Net 2003's Data
Grid control.
Can anybody help? TIA.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
