Hello,
Until recently I ran a php/apache mySQL wbsite on MacOSX. For some
reason I can't get the machine working again so now the site is
offline. I succeeded to copy the MySQL data from the Mac OX partition.
However, this is the 'raw' data - not a SQLdump but the frm, myd and
myi files for each table.
The data is not of much use if I want to use it in a website again,
I'd rather have a SQLdump.
So now my question is:

I just installed mysql on linux. If I open a terminal, su to root,
then type "mysql", I am able to connect to the server and run my
queries.
If I exit out of su so that I am my own id (baisley) and type "mysql",
I get this error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
'/home/data/mysql/mysql.sock' (13)
Any idea why? mysql.sock has full permissions (read/write/execute), so
it should be accessable by user baisley. If I am...

I'd be GREATLY APRECIATED if someone could bail me out of this one! I
logged into my server an hour ago just to find that the root partition
is 100% filled:
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00
34285296 32544556 0 100% /
Because of that (I think), the data directory associated with my MySQL
installation got shot (read: disappeared!).

Hello!
I have problem:
I have IPB forum installed. After search in IPB (search takes about 3-4
seconds for post table about 300 000 records) mysql shows "Sending
Data"
status and takes about 3-5 minutes.
I tested with PHP 5.2, PHP 4.4, PHP 4.2.3 - with same results.
I switched from MySQL 4.2.18 to 4.2.21 and 4.2.22 with same result.

Hi,
I am using ASP.Net 2.0 with the MySQL Connector .Net 5.1.2.2.
I added these lines to the web.config to make the connector.net able to
handle the SqlConnection object (and so to bind it to a grinview/formview
etc.):
<DbProviderFactories>
<add name="MySQL Data Provider" invariant="MySql.Data.MySqlClient"

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
