Is there anything I should know? For example, when Apache runs a CGI-BIN,
is there anything special about the environment (memory limits, etc.)?
Is the paradigm I proposed workable?

So you're not using PHP at all? In which case:
comp.lang.c
comp.databases. mysql
alt.apache.conf iguration
comp.infosystem s. www.authoring.cgi (although that seems fairly dead)

You could compile your PHP; that usually gives you quite
