Pear's MDB2/DB and PostgreSQL 8.1

I cannot for the life of me get a connection using MDB2 to a PostgreSQL
8.1 database.

I can get a connection just fine using:

$db = pg_connect ("host=localhos t port=5432 dbname=subscrib er
user=scottauge password=mypass word");

and using a dsn:

$dsn="pgsql://scottauge:mypas sword@tcp(local host:5432)/subscriber";

on DB works just fine.

But when trying to use MDB2 I simply get the error "MDB2 Error: not
found"

Is there some sort of magic I am missing?

Is MDB2 compatible with PHP 5?

I have been using the DSN as found in
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/packag....intro-dsn.php

Apache/2.0.55 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.55 OpenSSL/0.9.8a DAV/2 PHP/5.1.1
DB 1.7.6 stable
MDB2 2.2.2 stable
PEAR 1.4.5 stable

Hi, Is PEAR DB worth using? Slower? Other problems? Or should a person just wrap db functions in a user-defined class? Mike

I've been battling to install PEAR on Windows XP now for too long. I am not sure what I need to do. When I run go-pear.php from the command line, I get the error message as shown at the end. I included everything in case there is something there that's helpful. I'm trying to install PEAR so that I can use PHPUnit. Thanks for the help!!!!

I have error_reporting set at E_ALL | E_STRICT and get 35 Strict Standards notices every time I load MDB2. Is this something to be concerned about, and is this typical of other PEAR packages?

Hey all - I'm bumping into an issue with my installation of the MDB2 package that I'm hoping someone else has seen. I'm trying to execute a query, but get an "unknown error" exception that I can't seem to track down (exact message is "MDB2 Error: unknown error"). I have an ObjectDAO class (which I'm creating via a factory) that extends an abstract DataAccessObject class. The database connection is created in the parent class'...

Apologies if this is not the right forum. I have an application written originally to work with MySQL which now has to be extended to work with MSSQL also. I have modified all my database calls to use the PEAR MDB2 methods rather than mysqli. Everything still works fine with MySQL, but I have an odd problem when I test against MSSQL. Any database query which does not return a resultset is OK e.g. an update works fine. If I execute a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
