1) want to kill my automation server processes when i'm done with them.
i.e., want to make sure that my word and outlook processes that are
displayed in task manager are disposed of when i'm done. i set to null in
code but that doesn't kill process.
2) how do handle events in outlook and potentially word. need to create a
custom event for when the outlook email message closes either by send email
or user closing form.
thanks.

I have some code that launches MS Outlook and creates a new email message then
gives control of the Outlook application to the user by displaying it on the screen.
The problem is that when the user closes the Outlook application or sends an email
the Outlook window closes but the process Outlook.exe remains in memory. I have my
code waiting for the close event from the COM and I call Quit() on the Outlook
application but Outlook.exe still...

Seems I read someplace that's the thing to do.
So I then do:

I have a custom Access database that is a bulk mailing program for my
small business to send emails to my customers (not spam!). Before
sending mail, I export a folder in Outlook to an Access MDB file and
then open the custom database which runs a VB subroutine that iterates
through the exported MDB file and loads in new Senders of email. I'd
like to automate this further by eliminating the need to open Outlook
and export the folder...

Writing an Outlook AddIn with C#. For the user interface within Outlook I'm
adding matching pairs of Toolbar buttons and Menu items. All of the buttons
and menu items are wired up to send events to the same method (aka
delegate?). I use the Tag property within this method to determine what user
action is taking place. Very simple:
When adding toolbar button:

I already tried the outlook newsgroup but no luck. I'm exporting outlook
emails to Access format and import them in Access. It works well, but
Outlook doesn't export the time and date of the messages. Any ideas on how
to accomplish that?
Thanks in advance,
john

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
