Opinions on Zend Core for Oracle over PHP 5.1.4?!

I am getting frustrated of the PHP 5 releases chocking on OCI8 -- they
just seem really unstable as do recent ISAPI filters when run on
Windows 2003 Server. As an example the newest PHP 5.1.4 install for
Windows I did with OCI8 failed to load the OCI8 extension -- I wound up
dropping and older version PHP_OCI8.DLL into my install and restarting
Apache and everthing was great.

I just downloaded and installed the new Zend Core for Oracle (windows)
which comes with the 5.1.4 PHP version except no Oracle problems. Is
anybody working with the Zend Core / OCI8 package that can shed some
light on the stability and any general gotcha's before I start
installing Zend over the stock PHP distro from php.net?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Zend Core for Oracle is a great thing! I love it! It is canned installer,
thoroughly tested and working, which makes installation of PHP 5.1 with
OCI easy. If, on the other hand, you want to experiment with PECL modules
and live on the bleeding edge, Zend Core for Oracle is not for you.

Evening folks This has probably been asked before so apologies for that. I'm using Dreamweaver for PHP and have been for nearly a year. I've done some stuff that I'm very happy with but I'm getting to the stage where it doesn't go far enough. I want something that will still automate a lot of what I do rather than having to hand code 100%. Someone suggested Zend and I wondered what people here thought? andy

Hi, Is there a reason why we have to pay more for licensing for a different kind of processor? Why are we not charged for the Hyperthreading on some processors also. If Oracle is really conserned about the low end business market (small and medium), then they should drop their attitude on Dual Core processors.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
