Hi,
I am at the end of my tether now - after spending several days trying to
figure how to do this. I have finally written a simple "proof of
concept" program to test serializing a structure containing pointers
into a "flattened" bit stream.
Here is my code (it dosen't work - compiles fine, pack appears to work,
but unpack retrieves jibberish and causes program to crash).

Hi, all.
This should be pretty easy:
When parsing my XmlDocument object with a validating
reader, what's the proper way to detect when it
"exits" an element's block? It's the first time
I've needed to toggle a bool when entering and
exiting one; I tried to trap the exit with
'case "</block>":', but that doesn't work.

And these are defined in Styles.css file:
a.theclass:link, a.theclass:visited {
display: block;

Hi all,
I did not understand why do the global vars are
initialized to NULL where as the block level variables have random
values? I know that the C standard requires this as was mentioned in a
recent thread.
I want to know why this descrimination is in place. Can't all the
variables be initialised to NULL automatically by the compiler? This
would make programming a little easier.

I'm making a very simple game in SDL, and I'm not asking for SDL help I
hope - this looks like something C++ related, so I'll ask here.
I have a class for a simple block, or tile, in the game, which can be
either on or off. I'm having trouble with the constructor though.
class block
{
private:
SDL_Surface *screen;

Hey,
I'm new to php and I'm trying to write some php code so that I can
insert data into a mysql database using html forms.
I've got two text forms and a submit button. When entering data and
selecting 'submit' a new record in my database is created. So far so
good... But when I enter data in only one content and hit the enter
key a new record is created with one empty field. And that something I
don't want to happen.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
