Cannot load libphp4.dll into server: Permission denied (Cygwin)

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on this problem. When I
configured and built PHP4 on Cygwin with gd, jpeg, and zlib it makes
fine but I get the following error when I try to start apache:

Syntax error on line 239 of /etc/apache/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/lib/apache/libphp4.dll into server: Permission denied
/usr/sbin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started

It was ok when I did a build without gd, jpeg, and zlib.

cygcheck gives the following:
C:\cygwin\bin\c ygcrypt-0.dll
C:\cygwin\bin\c ygwin1.dll
C:\WINDOWS\Syst em32\ADVAPI32.D LL
C:\WINDOWS\Syst em32\ntdll.dll
C:\WINDOWS\Syst em32\KERNEL32.d ll
C:\WINDOWS\Syst em32\RPCRT4.dll
C:\cygwin\bin\c ygpng12.dll
C:\cygwin\bin\c ygz.dll
C:\cygwin\bin\c ygminires.dll
C:\cygwin\bin\l ibhttpd.dll

All these have 777 permisions (except the System32 ones, which I didn't
check).

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Brett Graham

Hello world, I am fighting with what is probably a stupid problem. In a wxpython GUI, here is a method which must read a file, and if the file is not correctly formed rename it and create a new file: (I have removed most of the logic of the code here, so I am not sure it's going to be helpful)

Thanks Peter, I thought I'd give an update on this problem. My application had 2 assemblies that contained classed for the Data access and business logic layer. It was on one of them that I was getting the Access denied error. After checking different settings and googling I wasnt able to pinpoint the problem and as a temporary fix I decided to merge the two assemblies into one, my logic being no offending assembly no access denied...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
