Sun.freeware.co m doesn't have any PHP binaries, but if you have Solaris 8
there is a Companion CD available from

http://wwws.sun.com/software/solaris...are/index.html

which should have PHP on it. Otherwise you will probably need to compile
the source.

I get an unexpected result when I add two negative numbers in PHP on SPARC/Solaris 8. The same program works fine on Intel/Linux. I'm using PHP 4.3.1 on both systems. Here is my program, test.php. <?php $a = 0x81234567; $b = 0xF0000002; printx($a, $b);

i want to write a program, which works much like ldd command, which goes throgh c/c++ binary on solaris/SPARC and check whether it is possible to port it on to linux/intel. How do i do this? what are the parameters to look for in binaries for porting. Any guide lines in this direction would be world of good to me. Please reply to this fast, i am running out of time.

So, I download the latest "stable" tar for perl (5.8.7) and try to compile it on the Solaris 8 (SPARC) box that I administrate. I try all sorts of different switches, but I can't get it to compile. I need it to be compiled with threads. Anyone have any wisdom on how best to do this? Here's a transcript of my latest attempt. It's long; you might want to skip to the bottom, where I try "make" and the fatal errors start happening.

I have a AIX backup of DB2 (8.2) and i was told i needed to have a unix OS installed to be able to restore this database. So now i have installed Solaris 10 (x86 hardware). I copied the DB2.tar file to a folder i created in /export/home/db2, and unzipped everything. My issue is now when i try to run the 'install or setup' files, i get a message in the terminal window that says 'cannot execute'. I made sure to give the entire folder and all...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
