The difflib.py module and the diff.py tools script in Python 2.4 alpha
3 now support generating side by side (with intra line differences) in
HTML format. I have found this useful for performing build release
comparisons (I use a script to generate a main page showing all the
files that were changed in a build with hyperlinks to side by side
differences for each of those files). I also find it useful for
generating HTML test reports to...

I can't understand a little thing in bitwise operations.
In PHP and Javascript
4653896912>>13 = -212992
In Python and Ruby
4653896912>>13 = 568102
In Python and Ruby - it's ok. I understand.

I know it's a long shot but does anyone have any pointers to generic
algorithms - or, even better, Python code - for comparing images and
computing a value for the "difference" between them?
What I want to do is to compare two bitmap images (taken from a
webcam, so I'll likely be using PIL) and get some idea of the
"difference" between them so I can tell if something in the image has
changed, eg, a person has entered the field of view. ...

Hi
With Python 2.5, there is a change on the reference count of objects
compared with previous versions (as reported by sys.getrefcount).
All Python versions from 2.1 thru 2.4 gave these same results:
Python 2.1.3 (#35, Apr 8 2002, 17:47:50) on win32

Hi,
I looking for a file comparison utility in Python that works like
'diff' command in Unix and 'comp' in Windows.
The present 'cmd' in filecmp module only presents output in the form
of 1 or 0 i.e whether the 2 files differ or not?
So, I'm lookin for something that generates actual differences and
moreover it is cross platform as well. As I need that same thing in
both my windows and linux box.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
