Hi
I just upgraded from MySQL 4.0.something to 4.1.1 (alpha).
When I try to connect to MySQL in a PHP script, I get the following error:
"mysql_connect(): Client does not support authentication protocol
requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client in file.php on line
130"

I don't know if this is a PHP problem or a MySQL problem - hopefully,
someone here can give me a clue.
I am getting the subject error when I try to connect to MySQL from a
PHP page.
$conn = mysql_connect( $domain, $user, $password );
I'm using PHP 5.0.1 and MySQL Server: 4.1.9; Client: 5.0.0
Running on Windows XP (IIS, of course)

I've just installed 4.1.0-alpha-max-nt onto my server and now my 3.51
ODBC client says
Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server.
Consider upgrading MYSQL client
Am I missing something obvious because I cannot find a more up to date
client? Or do I need to go back a version of the server to keep working
ODBC?
Thanks

I have a need for a very simple web server that can authenticate clients
using integrated windows authentication. I have been asked to propose a
solution that doesn't use IIS. I know that HttpListener is a good option, but
I need support for Win2K. I tried putting together a simple server that uses
NegotiateStream, but when I try to access it with IE everything just hangs on
the AuthenticateAsServer call. Is what I'm trying to do even...

I am trying to understand "client authentication" works. My environment is
DB2/UDB LUW 8.2 on zSeries SLES9 as the database server and DB2 for VSE 7.4
as the client. We currently have DB2/LUW set up as follows:
Client Userid-Password Plugin (CLNT_PW_PLUGIN) =
Client Kerberos Plugin (CLNT_KRB_PLUGIN) =
Group Plugin (GROUP_PLUGIN) =
GSS Plugin for Local Authorization ...

There is a wield issue in inspecting the network traffic on the web service
client side. There are two soap calls if credentials are used. The first
call has no credentials and is rejected by the server. The second call has
credentials and works. They are done by .Net behind the scene. No exception
is generated. If I do not pass in credentials or pass in empty crenditials
(empty user id and password), only one soap message is sent.

Hi,
I am using asynchronous client/server communication. Whenever a
client is getting connected to the server the correspoinding socket is
added to the list. I want to validate whether the client is really a
valid one, for that every client will send some command to server for
validation. But the thing is if the client is invalid server will not
receive the command at all so the socket will be kept open how should
i identify that socket...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
