vin number code database

Howdy,

Does anyone know if there is a publicly available list of vin numbers
codes at least down to the model level?

I'd like to write some code for a site I'm working on to find the make
and model from a vin number, but I need some sort of database, or list
of models first.

Thanks!

When deleting a row from the database, that id is now missing. So what I'm trying to do is update in a loop (maybe an sql loop if there is one) of all of the id numbers - sort of like renaming them. It did partly work because all the id's were set to 22. Thats because there was 22 rows. Here's the code I used: $result = mysql_query ("SELECT * FROM counter"); for($counting = 1; $row = mysql_fetch_row ($result); ++$counting)

I have six hard drives (4 SCSI and 2 EIDE) on my main machine with parts of a database on each drive. The main index is on one SCSI drive all to itself. The main data are on the other three SCSI drives. Small relations are on one EIDE drive, and the logfiles are on the other EIDE drive. When running the task, below, the rest of the machine is not doing much. I do not remember where I saw it, but somewhere I got the idea that the number...

I have created a table and form for allowing the input of a unique customer number (not an ID autonumber number) which a customer would enter once after installing the database. I'm using DLookup to obtain the value which works. What I need assistance with is the best method to use to ensure that only ONE customer number can be entered. A quick attempt to structure a piece of code is shown below. Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks,...

So I've got an old MS Works database I imported into Access. I needed a primary key so I created a record number field that was just the record number I manually inserted when I entered it in the database so I could sort the records by the date at which they were entered. Well now I've deleted some of those records so its of course causing gaps in the records. The record number in Access no longer matches my record number that I...

I have a problem that at first glance seems not that hard to figure out. But, so far, the answer has escaped me. I have an old database file that has the date(s) stored in it as number of days. An example is: 36,525 represents 01/01/1900. The starting point date is considered to be : 00/00/0000. I have looked thru Help and used Google and have not really found an answer. I know that Leap Years need to be accounted for too. Any...

Hi Folks, I have been struggling with this issues for the last couple of days. I have a java application which does an update to the database every 5 mins. The data written to the database does not change much from one minute to the next. Just the timestamp. While this application runs 24/7, the error occurs once or twice a day (It's an intermittent problem which I have not been able to replicate in my dev environment) below is the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
