Hello,
We are having a problem with a component in our system that uses
publisher policy files. Whenever it gets modified and moved out to
where our build processes reference components for other builds,
developers get this error:
"The dependency 'COMPONENT, Version=VERSION, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=PUBLIC KEY TOKEN' in project 'OTHER COMPONENT' cannot
be copied to the run directory because it would conflict with
dependency...

Within my group of developers we have a list of library components we develop
and continuously enhance and upgrade. We don't have source control (that's a
bit of a sore issue for me) but when an update is made to a library .dll we
put these out in a released directory where all of our other
solutions/projects reference these "released" .dll's. These assemblies are
referenced directly to the assembly files themselves from other projects,...

Hello:
I have created several components that have the following dependency
relationships:
Assembly1 references assemblies A, B, and C.
Assembly2 references assemblies A, B
When attempting to allow Assembly 2 to reference Assembly1, the following
message is returned:
"A reference to Assembly1.Library could not be added. Adding this project as

I have a project that I have been messing with for a while.
I get a message in my task list that says:
"The dependency 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib' could not be found."
I added this library in a while ago but removed it. I can't find where
the dependency is. The solution builds just fine. There are 3 projects
in the solution. Where do I go to find where this dependency is?
Thanks

We're getting this error and don't know where to find the problem. I assume
this is usually issued in the typical case where project A has a reference
to project B, and project B has a reference to project A. There is nothing
so obvious, and look at all the dependencies I've failed to find anything
that could be perceived as circular. Has anyone found any odd behavior or
have a suggestion for something non-obvious to look at?

There seems to be a bug in the link-library dependency checking in VS.NET 2003.
Under the Configuration->Linker->General->Additional Library Directories
property,
if you specify a directory name such as "$(SolutionDir)\..\lib", it will
link properly, but when you try to run in the IDE will complain that the
"project configuration is out of date." It turns out that $(SolutionDir)
already contains a trailing '\', so that changing the...

Hi,
I have an issue which is the ordinary and always recurring circular
dependency - but I do not know how to resolve it :-( The usual forward
declaration does not help...
I have a client that uses a resource. As a consequence of using the
resource, the resource later receives an asynchronous notification (from an
underlying layer, e.g. OS). This notification should then be forwarded to
the Client that owns the resource.

I have two projects in one solution - a library and executable. Each
have a namespace such as:
ROOT.myapp.Functional
ROOT.myapp.UI
However, each cannot reference the other. myapp.UI is dependent on the
library but only sees ROOT.myapp.UI and vice versa. How do I get them
to see each other's namespace?

I have a problem that looks like it has not been discussed before in
these groups.
I have a simple SQLAgent job that runs sp_who (could be anything, but
let's just say sp_who for this example). I have set the jobstep to
write to an output file "T:\out.txt". If the job is owned by an
admin, it runs fine and writes the output file. If it is owned by a
non-admin user, it gets the following error msg:
Warning: cannot write logfile...

Hi
I'm running an ASP.NET web application under IIS. I'm inserting a cache
object with a file based CacheDependency. I've noticed that when the file
changes the Cache object is not always immediately invalidated.
e.g. Cache.Insert("myobj", data, new CacheDependency(filePath));
When I make a change to the file 'filePath' and call the object from the
cache it is not null. I'm disposing of the FileStream object immediately

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
