Greetings:
Crack open the beer, PEAR DB 1.6.0 is here! (Hey, I'm a bit giddy
with excitement that my intense work during the past seven weeks
has come to fruition.)
For those unfamiliar with PEAR DB, it's a package of PHP classes
that provide an object oriented API with common methods of accessing
thirteen of PHP's database driver extensions:
dBase, FrontBase, InterBase, Informix, mSQL, MS SQL Server,

My hosting company has pre-intalled PEAR in a directory out of the web
directory (and not in php-includes).
I've tried including the absolute /to/path/ in the requre statement but it
does not work.
How would I access the PEAR packages?
Many thanks.

Windows XP, Frontpage 2000, IIS 5.1, Access 2000
When I attempt to open a connection to my database I get an error the
page cannot be found... this on my local machine, using localhost. The page
works correctly when viewed on my host's site.
The code:
Set Conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")

I have an Access front end that uses SQL Server linked tables. SQL Server

My front end is locked down, but I want to stop users from creating a new

I am aware of the 'hack the registry' approach. This is just not a safe way to accomplish this on a user's PC. I need to do this the right way. Is there anyone -perhaps from Microsoft - out there who can assist me on this?

I would like to start a discussion of what everyone is using as an
embedded application database with .NET - specifically VB.NET.
The MSDE package is *far* to huge to be of any real use at over 70 megs,
so I'm left with Access.
Access has had a bad rep in the past but I'm wondering if recent
versions (like, the last 5 years) have addressed the issues that it had
previously. I remember speed and relability with multiple users were its...

I've installed PEAR in my local area, on my shared host, under htdocs
but I'm anticipating a number of issues.
I'm forcing use of PHP5 with an .htaccess file, but by default the
host runs PHP4
That could mean that pear is installed under the php4/ area, but not
php5 ?
go-pear prompted me to install a number of packages, including DB,
which my webhost already has made available. If I do install DB using

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
