Lisp Interpreter in PHP

Crazy, I know, but that is my question. Even google let me down:

Anybody know of a lisp interpreter in php?

And, I tried c.l.l. No dice. Even something similar. If you have
worked with lisp, you know what I am talking about. Something to handle
symbols, tags, keywords for example.

Hi Ramza,

I know someone who wrote his own LISP interperter in Smalltalk. He spent
most of his time learning about LISP. And this guy insisted to post his
lisp interpreter - well, from LISP! The actual interpreter was a fairly
small program. I suppose porting from Smalltalk it to php would only
take a few days. But maybe it would be easyer to port a LISP interpreter
that was written in C, C++ or Java, those languages have a syntax very
similar to php, there is no i/o to be done (don't try to port an IDE ;-)
), just add some $ signs and an array() call here and there, maybe
remove some type declarations, replace some structs by classes, quite
straightforward i'd guess.

Greetings,

Henk Verhoeven,
www.phpPeanuts.org (no LISP there, although context scouting does to a
certain extent replace seaside's use of continuations ;-) )

I think everyone who used Python will agree that its syntax is the best thing going for it. It is very readable and easy for everyone to learn. But, Python does not a have very good macro capabilities, unfortunately. I'd like to know if it may be possible to add a powerful macro system to Python, while keeping its amazing syntax, and if it could be possible to add Pythonistic syntax to Lisp or Scheme, while keeping all of the...

In the context of LATEX, some Pythonista asked what the big successes of Lisp were. I think there were at least three *big* successes. a. orbitz.com web site uses Lisp for algorithms, etc. b. Yahoo store was originally written in Lisp. c. Emacs The issues with these will probably come up, so I might as well mention them myself (which will also make this a more balanced

This article is posted at the request of C.W. Yang who asked me to detail my opinion of Lisp, and for the benefit of people like him, who may find themselves intrigued by this language. The opinions expressed herein are my personal ones, coming from several years of experience with Lisp. I did plenty of AI programming back in the day, which is what would now be called "search" instead.

Hi, I've been thinking about Python vs. Lisp. I've been learning Python the past few months and like it very much. A few years ago I had an AI class where we had to use Lisp, and I absolutely hated it, having learned C++ a few years prior. They didn't teach Lisp at all and instead expected us to learn on our own. I wasn't aware I had to uproot my thought process to "get" it and wound up feeling like a moron. In learning Python I've...

How do you compare Python to Lisp? What specific advantages do you think that one has over the other? Note I'm not a Python person and I have no axes to grind here. This is just a question for my general education. Mark

Hello, I am a CS student and I want to write simple lisp interpreter. The code should be entierly in C. I don't want to use any compiler generators like Bison or Yak, since wrinting this in raw C will give me more experience. I wrote a simple lexer ( changes leksems into the streams of tokens). The Lisp dialect I have to implement is not defined in any formal way, but I have a description of how it should behave (say its a >>writen...

Dear all, I'm trying to call from common lisp functions written for Sage (www.sagemath.org), which in turn is written in python. To do so, I tried http://common-lisp.net/project/python-on-lisp/. It was quite easy to get it to run and do some simple things with python. However, I was unable to get sage to run within it. If I start my local python 2.5 and follow (roughly)

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM). In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules. He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms. Adolph will...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
