I'm using forms authentication to protect a subfolder within my site. I've
got it working fine except for two issues:
(1) When I do a RedirectFromLogin page I have to put a cookie path ("/"
works, or "/mysubdir") or else the auth cookie doesn't get set. I'd like to
know why this is necessary.
(2) When I call SignOut() the auth cookie is not removed, no matter what I
try (no how the cookie is set in the RedirectFromLogin page.

I have written a shopping cart using ASP .NET (VB). It has been running
quite successfully on a site for about a year or so. I use the SessionID as
the key to hold information on the shopping cart.
I have copy / pasted the code into a new site. Everything is working,
EXCEPT for the shopping cart holding the SessionID. I have watched the
variable, and each time I hit the 'Update' button in a datalist, the session
ID changes. That is...

Our webhost (www.usbusinessweb.net) had a W2K IIS5 server crash after a
scheduled hard-boot occurred during a ms-security patch install overnight.
They couldn't get the server working again so they transferred our site
www.orbisoft.com to a new W2003 IIS6 server they set up.
That was a week ago.
Since that transfer, all of our ASPX pages that use Access2000 databases
have stopped working.

I have been using this great dynamic page flip from 76 design but I've run into some problems maybe someone can help me out with. I have about 70 pages in the book. I do not want people to have to wait for the entire book to load before looking at it. The code they have says that you can preload a couple of pages first and then have the rest load in the background but its not working correctly. Even though I tell the code false it still loads...

Hi,
I hope this is the right forum to post this question. We recently had a tech guy come in and move our web server into a DMZ. Before he did this everything was working fine. We have worksheets that are in the wwwroot folder and are .asp pages, and then there is a folder in the wwwroot for a website we are building which are .aspx pages.
Before he moved the web server into the DMZ both .asp and .aspx pages were working. Now only the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
