Getting the id of a computer as it hits the server

Hi,

I need to get the id of a computer as it hits the server. I know there
is a function to do this, but I can't find it. Can someone help
please?

Thanks,

Bill

I assume that by "id" you mean the IP adress of the machine that
accesses your script. If so, you can find it in the predefined variable
$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']

In the context of LATEX, some Pythonista asked what the big successes of Lisp were. I think there were at least three *big* successes. a. orbitz.com web site uses Lisp for algorithms, etc. b. Yahoo store was originally written in Lisp. c. Emacs The issues with these will probably come up, so I might as well mention them myself (which will also make this a more balanced

OK, never mind my last post. It was easy enough to refer to the table the repeater is bound to, but I made a big, incorrect assumption in that post. In my last post I thought I was successfully getting values from the textboxes in my repeater. It turns out I am not and I can't see what I'm doing wrong. I've had this problem before and just ended up taking a different route to avoid it. Now I REALLY need to figure out what I'm doing...

I have been working with ASP.NET 1.1 for quite a while now. For some reason, opening some ASP.NET applications we wrote is producing the following error message: "The Web server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the Web project located at the following URL: 'http://localhost/WebApplication1'. 'HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error'."

Hey all, Another question for you. I have a script that reads in a row from my db into an image object which i defined. It then takes that image and generates a thumbnail by using an output buffer and writes the thumbnail to a new entry in the database. Finally it prints the new image to the screen via this method:

Why isn't my update method getting called? Pasted below is an aspx from a 1.1 application I'm working on. It has two textboxes and a button for inserting data into the database, and a datagrid for editing and deleting data. When a user clicks on the "Edit" button in the datagrid, Edit() method is called and the appropriate row is changed into textboxes. And if user clicks on the "Update" button, the Update() method is fired. But if...

I was just chating with a few webdevelopers and it was brought to my attention that I need some type of server technology installed on my computer so I could get a visual of how my sites would look on the web. I'm completely new to the server technology stuff and don't need anything expensive - only for testing purposes and so other web artists can see my work and give me their opinion/suggestions. What is the process of getting...

Hi, I am trying to get (and transfer over ASP.NET) some encrypted data from some MySQL fields. Since the data contains many unicode characters, I tried to get the data as a series of ASCII values, transfer those numeric values over ASP.NET. I had no problem doing this on my local computer, by getting the field with "cast(field as BINARY)" so that on ASP.NET I have a byte array. Then send every field of array over ASP.Net.

I'm using the code below to retrieve price data from my e-commerce provider. The plan being to only have prices stored in one location and for there to be correct real-time currency conversions. Using the URL in $url I can get the product price for any quatity or currency. Initially I was just using fopen to get the data but on occasion the URL would fail due to timeouts (network congestion, ecommerce server busy or failure, etc) etc. So...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
