PHP only for Apache, or MS as well?

Hi,

My question is simple. Is PHP only for Apache, or MS as well?
And if not MS, then what is the MS equivalent?

Thanks.

You did'nt read the installation instructions on the website, didn't
you?

But Apache runs on MS.

Assuming Apache means the Apaches Foundation httpd, and MS is the win32
platform operating system.

To extend that:

php runs on Windows
under
either Apache or IIS

Since PHP can be obtained in source codes, it can run
on nearly any operating system that can compile C.
Which means it will DEFINITELY run on Windows.

As to HTTP server compatibility, PHP is known to
work on Windows with a long list of HTTP servers,
which includes, among others, Apache, IIS, and PWS.

Cheers,
NC

When I installed Mandrake 10.0 I thought I had Apache, PHP, and MySQL installed correctly. I could serve web pages, MySQL worked, and when I tried the phpinfo() function, I got a page that looked OK. I could create simple php pages and serve them up. Then I tried to install pear, and things started to be not OK after all. phpinfo() told me that the 'Configure Command' had both the following in it: --with-pear=/usr/share/pear

Hi all, I'm wondering how the apache server and php interepreter handles request. If one request comes to apache server what is next procedure? if apache server passes the request to php interepreter and php interepreter handles? what if 10 requests comes at same time? apache server forks 10 php interepreter? or php interepreter makes 10 threads for each request?

Hello, I am testing a web application (using the DBX PHP function to call a Postgresql backend). I have 375Mb RAM on my test home box. I ran ab (apache benchmark) to test the behaviour of the application under heavy load. When increasing the number of requests, all my memory is filled, and the Linux server begins to cache and remains frozen. ab -n 100 -c 10 http://localsite/testscript

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
