Validating bank account numbers

Hi,

I am trying to validate bank numbers
( the number that identifies a bank)
and bank account numbers.

Is there a certain algorithm or
do you know any generell rules like
how long the numbers have to be at least /most?

thanks,

Stefan

Are you talking about ABA (routing) numbers? Those are 9 digits
(always). Not sure how account numbers are defined. Wikipedia has an
article about ABA routing numbers:

This is HIGHLY country-specific. Typically, the
central bank or a self-regulatory group assigns
each bank a rounting number and sometimes sets
standards as to how many digits an account number
should contain. Additionally, SWIFT (Society for
Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunicati ons)
has its own set of codes for participating banks.

I just wanted to get some advice. I've had a few years experience in web site design and server-side programming and am fairly confident in my skills. There is a local Credit Union wanting to add a few features to their site (bill pay, transfer money between banks) and I am interested in the job. However, I've never worked for a bank before. Any suggestions about how to win the job, and how to ensure my work is secure enough for this

Does anyone know how to perform data validation in C? I have searched google for every possible result, and I either end up with data validation for C++ or nothing at all. I have also searched websites such as planet-source-code.com, but my search has been in vain. Can someone please help me out. Or at least, point me in the right direction? Thank you very much. :)

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
