I need to temporarily remove the recordset from my form while I run some
queries (have locking problems). So I turned Echo off before removing the
recordset to avoid getting #Name? in the bound controls. However, even
though I turned Echo off, I'm still getting #Name? until I reset the
recordset. Here's the code I'm using:
DoCmd.Hourglass True
Application.Echo False
Me.RecordSource = ""
<run queries here>

Hi,
When entering a password we don't really see the characters - we see
**** instead. How can I write such a routine in C? How can I 'echo
off' the inputs? How can I get a characters/strings from the keyboard
without typing them and ENTER at the end? Like read(kbd,...) in BASIC?
I am running mingw on an XP platform,
Thanks,

I'm opening a series of 3 reports one at a time and using code to save
each one as a snapshot. I've set Echo to false at the start of the
code to try to prevent the screen updating during the process.
Report 1 is opened, saved as a snapshot and then closed. Report 2 is
opened ....etc. The problem is that Echo only seems to stay false for
the first report. The subsequent 2 reports flash on the screen as they
are opened and saved. What...

I cannot get visual studio to "boot" on the referral. IIS just runs the ASP

I have madea website, which is pretty unfortunate. I was originally messing around for about 2 days, and came up with a great layout. The bad side is that the background is 1030px. If screen width is greater than 1030 (1024) then it shows up as blank space. I came up with some javascript code based on the trusty google.com. I want:
If screen width is less than 1024, print <a href="JSmedia.php">Continue</a>

Hello,
I'm doing some PHP and MySQL, and have a very simple question.
How do you echo a long space? When I use echo " ": , it gets echo'd as only one space...
Using echo " "; echo " "; echo " "; doesn't help either.
Thanks in advance for answering :).

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
